Random link generator

June 3rd, 2001

This is my first attempt at generating 'random links' using Javascript. Clicking on the image below ought to take you to a different location each time you click on it. If it doesn't, your money will be cheerfully refunded. Enjoy.

It should be noted that the randomness is limited. I mean if it were completely & utterly random, you could end up at some of those porn sites and we wouldn't want that now, would we.

I may well continue to fiddle with this page. So, you might like to re-visit it from time-to-time and see if its behaviour has grown even more random.

I just discovered an interesting phenomenon. Normally, when you click on the 'Back' button on your browser it takes you back to the previous page you had visited. It seems, however, that once a 'random' page has been generated, clicking on 'back' generates yet another random page. Interesting. To get back to this page you may need to click on the drop-down arrow next to the 'Back' button. Or you could click on the 'History' button.

Should you wish to see the javascript code used, simply click here. You can replace any of the locations in quotation marks with whatever takes your fancy. All you have to do is then save it as a HTM or HTML file and Bob's your uncle. :)

Failing that, you could visit this page - Javascript Random Scripts. Some of the others look interesting, like the Zen Generator ...

For more random scripts, you may like to try    Get Scripts   or    Hot Scripts

Here's another I'm toying with ...

Have fun.
